Compassionate Care for Mississippi Families

What is in-home care?
In-home care typically refers to non-medical assistance provided in the comfort of your home. This includes personal care (like bathing and grooming), companionship, and homemaking tasks (such as meal prep and light housekeeping). In contrast, home health refers to skilled services like nursing or physical therapy.

At AmeliCare, our in-home care services allow your loved one to receive the support they need—without giving up their independence or the comfort of home.

What is live-in care?
Live-in care is continuous support where an AmeliCare caregiver stays in the home to provide round-the-clock care. It’s ideal for individuals who need consistent help with personal care, mobility, or safety monitoring.

What does a caregiver do?
Our caregivers are compassionate professionals who support seniors and adults with day-to-day activities that improve their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. This includes:

  • Personal care (bathing, dressing, toileting)

  • Companionship

  • Meal prep

  • Medication reminders

  • Light housekeeping

  • Transportation and errands
They also create meaningful connections through engaging activities, encouragement, and presence.

What does aging in place mean?
Aging in place means remaining at home as one grows older, instead of moving to a care facility. Most seniors prefer this, and with the right support, it’s possible to do so safely and joyfully. Familiar surroundings, independence, and routine can be powerful for mental and emotional health.

What are ADLs and IADLs?

  • ADLs (Activities of Daily Living): Basic tasks such as bathing, eating, dressing, toileting, and mobility.

  • IADLs (Instrumental Activities of Daily Living): Tasks that support daily life, like cooking, cleaning, shopping, or managing medications.

AmeliCare designs each custom care plan to support both ADLs and IADLs as needed.

How much does in-home care cost?
Costs vary based on the type of care, how many hours are needed, and location. At AmeliCare, we offer free care consultations to create a custom plan that fits your budget and care needs.
